Home Repairs and Rehabilitation
Habitat Birmingham's Home Repair Program is a great way to inspire and engage others to take action in revitalizing communities. The focus is critical repairs of existing homes – one home, one block, one neighborhood at a time. Repairs are related to general poor structural conditions, safety, landscaping and painting, as well as special needs including wheelchair ramps.
Habitat Birmingham is currently working to complete repairs for our currently approved applicants from across our service area. In addition, we have revitalization partnerships with the Mason City neighborhood in Birmingham and the City of Hoover. We are accepting applications for these two areas. Qualified applicants will provide proof of income, proof of homeownership and complete an application. Homeowners are responsible for repayment of a portion of materials costs, through a no-interest loan by Habitat. Please contact our office to inquire about these partnerships and to apply.
We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, gender, handicap, familial status, national origin, age, marital status, or sources of income.
