Home Repair

Habitat Birmingham's Home Repair Program is a great way to inspire and engage others to take action in revitalizing communities. The Program is designed to allow current homeowners to continue to live independently and preserve their home for years to come. Services offered may include painting, landscaping, weatherization, accessibility modifications, and other minor repairs.

How does it work?

  • Habitat Birmingham selects partner families based on income, need, and willingness to partner.
  • Habitat Birmingham recruits and supervises volunteer labor and donated materials to keep costs low and takes no profit for their services.
  • Eligible homeowners authorize the use of volunteer labor.
  • A no-interest loan is made to the homeowner to cover project cost. Payments are placed in a revolving fund to help A Brush with Kindness serve others with home repair needs.
